Kelly and Bruce Button entered the hospitality arena full-time 8 years ago, but each has had previous experience in the industry.
Bruce is still working in the trade magazine publishing and trade show field and Kelly’s first career was in adult care . They now enjoy the wide variety of diversity found in their new careers as innkeepers. Bruce is a native of Sharon Springs so he can give you the history of the area.
Kelly spent her childhood in southern New Jersey. Her family lived in Navisink and spent summers showing horses . Kelly was the New Jersey State Equestrian in 1984. They both enjoy being in the outdoors. Bruce is a hunter, motorcyclist, and volleyball player. He enjoys tending to the extensive flower gardens the spring and summer seasons yesgirls.net. Kelly’s avocations include knitting, baking,decorating and traveling. Both enjoy coaching a Special Olympics volleyball team.
During the cold winter months Bruce and Kelly live nearby in a small , split-level house that is easier to heat than the 7000 sq ft inn. They operate and reside at the inn from April through October.
Their children, Travis, Lyndsay, Brittany , Josh and Stephanie are on their own and have careers in the IT, Sales, Graphic Design , Child Care and agricultural industries. . Grandson Gage helps Grandma and Grandpa out also when he can during the summer. The newest grandchildren , Alex and Janelle were born in late 2015, so they get a break for a couple of years!
2018 is the 8th season for Bruce and Kelly operating the inn . Their goal from the beginning was to operate it for 10 years and then let someone else have the opportunity to continue to run a successful business. To that end, the inn is on the market as a fully functioning business or as just the building alone. They will continue to operate it as usual until there are new owners to take it over.
